TaleMe Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-29-draft · Effective [DATE]

Draft placeholder. Written from how the app works today, for review by Atom Tech Consulting LLC and its lawyer before release. Items in [brackets] need filling in.

These terms are an agreement between you and Atom Tech Consulting LLC ("we") about using TaleMe. By agreeing in the app, you accept them and the Privacy Policy.

1. Who may use TaleMe

The account holder must be a parent or legal guardian, at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live). You may let your children use TaleMe under your supervision, and you are responsible for their use of it.

2. What TaleMe does

TaleMe uses the phone's camera to look at a picture book and reads it aloud with an AI voice, and can ask the child one question per page. The narration is written by AI from photos of the page. It may misread words, skip or describe things differently from the book, or say something unexpected. It is not a substitute for an adult reading with the child. Please stay nearby while your child uses it.

3. Account

You sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple ID secure; activity on your account is your responsibility. You can delete the account in Settings at any time.

4. Reading time and payments

5. Using TaleMe properly

Use TaleMe only for reading books you are entitled to read, and only for personal, non-commercial use. Don't point it at people who haven't agreed to be filmed, try to break or overload the service, take it apart to copy it, or use it to make recordings or copies of books.

6. The stand and the phone

If you use a stand, follow its instructions, keep it stable and away from table edges, and keep cables out of a child's reach. Don't leave a young child alone with the phone or the stand.

7. Ownership

TaleMe, its software, voice and design belong to Atom Tech Consulting LLC and its licensors. Books remain the property of their authors and publishers. The narration is provided for your personal use while reading.

8. Changes and availability

We may change or stop features, and we may update these terms. If a change matters, the app asks you to agree again before reading continues. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

9. Disclaimers and liability

TaleMe is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about TaleMe is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that can't be limited. [REVIEW]

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/COUNTRY]. [DISPUTE RESOLUTION CLAUSE]

11. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for TaleMe or its support, and has no obligation to maintain it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
